Bungie's weekly blog post had some juicy announcements that pertain to near future. During the week starting on 28 October 2019, Bungie will introduce Xenophage, an Exotic machine gun and a new PvP mode, named Momentum Control.

Shadowkeep owners have barely had enough time to properly test Leviathan's Breath out properly and Bungie are already introducing a new treat for them. It is called Xenophage, it's a machine gun and that's about as far as the info on the weapon goes. We will all know more once it goes live next week, with the reset.

The new Exotic is not the only thing coming with the reset though as Lord Shaxx will have more work for the Guardians who are willing to test their might against their peers. There will be a new, time-limited, Crucible game mode named Momentum Control.

As the name suggests, players will be competing to hold control of three areas in 6v6 format but the twist comes in the focus on gunplay rather than abilities and super. They are not excluded entirely but the regular charging is thrown out of the window as players will need to defeat their opponents in order to charge their abilities.

Meanwhile, the guns will go insane as all weapon damage is increased and according to Bungie , every weapon is a contender. This will add more to a realistic approach where one well-placed bullet will be lethal, even if it's not fired from a sniper rifle. Furthermore, there will be no tracker so flanking will almost certainly be rampant.

Heavy weapon ammo will respawn quicker than usual and offer higher amounts on every recharge. It appears this will be the prime way of dealing with enemies who managed to earn a Super and use it.

To compensate for all the additional lethality, players will respawn immediately and points will get captured much faster.
