Bungie announced they will be buffing several Solar specialisations, one for each class. In the case of Hunters, it will be Way of the Sharpshooter which is just underwhelming in both PvP and PvE at the moment.
Hunters in Destiny 2 are not underperforming but some of their specialisations certainly are, depending on what you are doing. In case of Way of the Sharpshooter, it is underperforming everywhere, except for a few niche situations where massive burst from one shot could be applied through using Celestial Nighthawk Exotic helmet. For those unaware of the mechanics, it is something along the lines of Izanagi's Burden single shot mechanic.
To make the specialisation more useful in both PvE and PvP, the Knife Juggler melee ability will be kind of scrapped. It will be replaced by and incorporated into the new ability called Weighted Knife. It has a wind-up period and does extra precision damage and precision kills recharge it immediately.
The melee ability will also ricochet off the walls once, which could serve up some fancy kills but more importantly, Bungie are doing something highly-requested by the community - precision hits from this ability will instantly kill other Guardians in PvP.
Practice Makes Perfect passive ability charges up Super energy on precision hits and the only change with the new season will be that it lasts longer but provides less energy per second. Precision hits will give two stacks of the buff.
Crowd Pleaser passive, which provides Golden Gun with precision hits and Orbs of Light on such occurrences, will be removed and the bonuses incorporated into Line 'em Up.
Knock 'em Down is the new perk. Precision final blows will increase Stability and ADS speed and it lasts for 10 seconds. After it gets activated, any additional final blows or assists will increase the perk's duration to up to 25 seconds. Using Golden Gun with this perk's timer at above 20 seconds will consume the remaining duration to give the Super extra damage. This effect will not stack with Celestial Nighthawk, which is quite the blow to the Exotic's viability.
