Dead Cells is wrecking it with sales over the years and it is not that surprising, given the amount of support the devs poured into it.

Dead Cells has managed to sell over 10 million copies over the course of six years although it has been only five years since the full release.

Compared to some of the modern giants like GTA V or The Witcher 3, the number is not that high but neither was the budget nort the scope of the game.

This roguelite is an indie hit whose pixels you can virtually count on your hands but Motion Twin still managed to capture millions of hearts worldwide.

Such a milestone goes to show that the trending tropes are not always the way to go with game development - you don't need to have photorealistic graphics to make it big.

Besides the art style being more important than graphics, it sometimes helps when the entry barrier is not too high. It is easier to afford a PC with a GTX 480 than one with a high-end RTX card after all.

What the gamers generally seek is a beautiful experience and that is exactly what Dead Cells delivered through 34 free content updates and four paid DLCs.

There is currently no word on what is next for the French developers but we know millions of fans will be awaiting their next step eagerly.

The devs didn't mention any discounts to celebrate the milestone but with the Summer Sale just around the corner, you may not need one.
