Motion Twin released another update for Dead Cells and as you might imagine, this one is quite festive but also brings changes and new things to refresh your runs.
With the end of the year, the holiday season has kicked off in many video games by now and Motion Twin now did the same for Dead Cells. The game has received several new outfits, two of which are Christmas-themed. At least one will let you run around as the Santa, mowing enemies down as you come across them.
The weapon that was added with the update is not exactly festive but it's certainly something the community has been asking for. It's the katana which will let the players chain a standard slash with a dashing charge attack. With that in mind, you might want to don the ninja outfit for the complete experience.
Besides the additions for the player, Motion Twin also chucked in a new enemy. The Demolisher will be using an explosive crossbow which is sure to cause a few frustrating deaths, partially because of its arc that makes the projectile flight somewhat unpredictable. You can find this new enemy in the Distillery at BC0 and a few other places later on. The devs categorised him as an upgrade to the Knife Thrower.
Malaise mechanic was altered and a ton of other stuff happened, as is the custom in Dead Cells updates, all of which you can check out on the official announcement.
That said, the devs will not be working too much on the game for the time being since they are off to grab some rest with the holidays and will return in January 2021. With that announcement, they also teased that the next DLC, Fatal Falls, is "just over a month away from release", meaning we are getting it in late January or early February 2021.
