ArenaNet messed up but they are not going to let that cause issues to the Guild Wars 2 players.
ArenaNet came a long way since Guild Wars 2 's release back in 2012 and the latest mess and the subsequent solution illustrate that point perfectly.
The game recently had a Twitch Drop campaign where fans could watch the game on the popular streaming service to unlock a Warrior Quaggan Backpack set, three Upgrade Extractors, an End of Dragons t-shirt and a bag slot.
However, the campaign ended a few hours sooner than expected, which obviously messed with the players' plans since the rewards were dependant on the number of hours watched.
Therefore, ArenaNet will hold a rerun of the event from June 6 at 9:00 AM PST / 12:00 PM EST / 5:00 PM BST / 6:00 PM CEST to June 11 at 11:59 PM PST / 2:59 AM EST / 7:59 AM BST / 8:59 AM CEST.
Everyone is eligible for the rewards, including people who got them the first time.
While it's not as attractive as the first time because the backpack set and the t-shirt have no value when obtained after the first time, the bag slot alone is very much worth it.
The way this issue was handled is a stark contrast to what happened in the earliest days of Guild Wars 2 when around 3,000 people got banned for simply converting one in-game currency into another when no one even knew the relative values of the currencies in the first place.
It was ANet's mistake and players paid the price. This time around, Arena Net's mistake resulted in more player rewards.
