Daymare was initially meant to be a Resident Evil Remake project but when Capcom started working on the same idea, they didn't just send a lawyer army after the group of ambitious devs.
Instead, the company worked out a solution that worked for both parties - the name was changed to Daymare 1998 and the young grasshoppers got a few pointers from the more experienced survival horror veterans.
While that is a lot of connection between the franchises, it is growing further apparently, with the voice of Leon Kennedy promoting Daymare 1994.
The game is a prequel to Daymare 1998 and sees the player controlling a different HADES unit member but the premise is basically the same.
Crossovers between titles are exciting but the main draw in the video will probably be the information about Daymare 1994 demo, which can now be accessed on Steam.
Meanwhile, the full game is planned for release on August 30, 2023.
Another interesting detail is that despite being released in 2023, Daymare 1994 has some really humble system requirements, with the likes of GTX 1060 and i7-3770 finding their way into the recommended specs.+
Those who are suffering from storage issues will also be glad to see it only needs 23 GB of disk space, instead of the usual 100+ GB which is being normalised in the modern day.
