Creative Assembly have teased the upcoming Skaven DLC for Total War: Warhammer 2. While the update doesn't directly mention or confirm the DLC, the developers wording clearly suggest at the Skaven faction. It won't be out soon though.

Creative Assembly have shared their latest update in which they detail what the developers have been working on during January 2019.

Along with a couple of additions for Total War: Warhammer 2 and some finishing touches on the upcoming Total War: Three Kingdoms, it looks like the developers are working on the rumoured Skaven DLC.

According to the update, Fantasy New Content Team are going quiet for the next few months as they "scheme and plot beneath the surface" before they "resurface" to drop "cold-blooded and explosive content".

The message clearly suggests that the new content will be Skaven-themed as the Skavens are known as a humanoid rat-creatures that inhabit a massive underground empire. Also, the "cold-blooded" part could potentially hint at the reptilian faction called Lizardmen who are known as the Cold Ones.

The speculation and rumours about the Skaven DLC have been floating around for some time now and while the development team didn't share specific details, they did confirm that the new content is expected after the release of Total War: Three Kingdoms which is scheduled for 07 March 2019.

The Curse of the Vampire DLC, which is the latest expansion offered four new Lords, mechanics and abilities so it's safe to assume the Skaven DLC will follow the same path.
