Following the rumours from a couple of weeks ago, Valve have today officially announced Counter-Strike 2, coming sometime this Summer.
The legendary multiplayer shooter is alive and kicking! Valve have just announced the next Counter-Strike game, dubbed simply Counter-Strike 2 . The game is set to launch sometime in the Summer of 2023, presumably for PC via Steam .
In addition to the official announcement, Valve have also shared three short videos, where they talk about the game's mechanics and features in detail including maps, tick rates, and responsive smokes. We also got to see the first gameplay footage of Counter-Strike 2 in these videos.
The biggest difference between the current game and the upcoming title is certainly in visuals. Counter-Strike 2 utilises modern lightning techniques, looks much sharper and more detailed but at the same time, it retains the clean look that the franchise is known for.
