Kalypso announced they will bring Commandos 2 and Praetorians out for testing on 13 December 2019 for those who preorder the games. Early 2020 release dates have also been confirmed, with console versions lagging behind PC ones.
Commandos 2 and Praetorians remasters will become available to a wider audience for the first time on 13 December 2019, through the beta tests that will be only there for those who preorder each game.
For some reason, the preorders were still not up at the time of writing, despite the announcement preceding the article but Kalypso stated there will be options to purchase each game separately or bundled, with the latter featuring some sort of a discount.
Anyway, the full release for both games will be on 24 January 2020 so the games will completely bypass the holiday season of 2019. Console versions, which include PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, will follow at some point during Spring 2020. It remains to be seen whether Kalypso will attempt to avoid a release in April as other games have already moved their releases in order not to collide with Cyberpunk 2077.
Beta testing will include some revamped features that will not be as players remember them. For example, the tutorial and the campaign of each game will feature the new control layouts, which could be a welcome change as one of the challenges Commandos series had was maintaining control of units while also fiddling with their unique inventories.
Praetorians will also feature a "fully remastered multiplayer mode" which sounds somewhat confusing. It is not quite clear whether the quote refers to just the remastered nature of the game or the multiplayer additional features that were previously not available.
