Commandos 2 HD Remaster has been available for a while but Nintendo Switch folks are still waiting for their version and it's now been announced the game is releasing in exactly one month.
Kalypso Media announced that Commandos 2 HD Remaster is coming to Nintendo Switch on December 4, 2020, exactly one month from the announcement itself.
Accompanying the release date reveal is a trailer that you can check out below, showcasing how the game runs on the tiny system that is several times more powerful than the original PC hardware on which the Commandos series was originally played. Back in the day, the game demanded a grand total of 64 MB of RAM and a processor that is no longer fit for a smartwatch.
Then again, this is the remaster we are talking about and the modernisation of the game does require stronger hardware, although nothing that exceeds the power of Switch.
Nintendo's handheld console will feature revamped tutorials, campaign missions and optimised support for Joy-Con and Pro controllers. It is a singleplayer title so no multiplayer will exist for the time being but it remains to be seen what Kalypso might come up with in the future.
As it stands, controlling a group of commandos who are trying to avoid being spotted by Nazi soldiers is challenging enough and will likely have quite a learning curve before you get used to the controls and smooth the gameplay out.
With that in mind, keep your senses sharp and have fun gaming over the coming holiday season!
