Setting the stage for the upcoming launch of Operation Absolute Zero, Treyarch are rolling out Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's update 1.09, which brings matchmaking, map and weapon changes to Blackout and a bunch of fresh Zombies features.
Starting with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's multiplayer changes, Treyarch upped the detection range of melee weapons, including the Bayonet and Stiletto Knife operator mods. Titan's ADS flinch mitigation has been reduced, which applies for Blackout and Zombies as well.
The update brings tweaks to three Black Ops 4 specialists - Prophet, Firebreak and Seraph. Prophet's Tempest ammo count is down from 14 to 10 with "additional tuning to Tempest accuracy incoming soon."
Firebreak's Purifier should connect with enemies more reliably. Last but not least is Seraph, whose Annihilator earn rate has been increased.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's new update adds Nuketown, Gun Game and Safeguard to custom games. Treyarch tweaked scorestreaks a bit and the bug that prevented firing up a second RC-XD after using one has been addressed. Not Outgunned, Ninja, Surf's Up and Threat Neutralized challenges should be tracking and behaving properly from now on.
As for Blackout changes, the 1.09 update's first and most obvious change will be the environment, as Treyarch added "seasonal changes to foliage and softer winter lighting".
SDM's damage has been reduced, while its ADS time, both in and out, and recoil have been increased. Spitfire now deals less damage with a higher recoil.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's undead-a-palooza, Zombies, received "Daily Tier Skip credit for completing 15 rounds in a game of Classic Zombies each day". Treyarch also plugged the memory leaks that caused crashing at high rounds in just about all the maps, again proving that Zombies is its most problematic mode.
