Lawbreakers, the ill-fated arena shooter that fizzled out under the spotlight, may not be done for as the brain behind it teases more news.
Lawbreakers was a victim of terrible marketing blunders combined with unfortunate timing as it attempted to enter the arena shooter market during the time when Overwatch was all the rage in gaming circles.
Boss Key Productions subsequently attempted to scrap up some money together with the battle royale Radical Heights but it was not meant to be and the studio closed down while the man at the top, Cliff Bleszinski kept rambling about various excuses why the initial game failed.
Now it looks like the fight is not over as he is teasing some news about the arena shooter.
There is no indication what the news is about, other than the game's name. The only other clue is that it had something to do with legal proceedings as the tweet in question mentioned Bleszinski heard from his lawyer on that topic.
Considering that Lawbreakers kept gathering dust years after its doom, it is not impossible that CliffyB is just measuring the public's interest in a possible revival, which could then be used in a sales pitch to anyone who would back the project financially.
In any case, now could indeed be a good time to bring back Lawbreakers since Overwatch 2 keeps suffering from balance issues, horrible monetisation and general displeasure from the player base.
Will it happen though? Time will tell and any related news might hit sooner rather than later.
