Face-off mode, which originally appeared in Modern Warfare 3 could soon arrive to the latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. According to Co-Design Director of Multiplayer Joe Cecot, Face Off throwback playlist has already been discussed.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare introduced a ton of fresh content since its release back in October 2019. Players got several new maps, game modes and there is also the first battle pass, which introduced two new weapons and ton of other items.
Of course, Infinity Ward and Activision will look to add even more new content in 2020. As you may know, in just 20 days, the current Season One is set to be replaced with Season Two, which should bring new battle pass, maps, modes and more.
One of the new modes that could arrive with Season Two is Face Off. In case you are not familiar with the mode, it is a small 1v1 and 2v2 multiplayer mode that was originally introduced in Modern Warfare 3, seven years ago.
Now, you may ask but what is actually the point here since Modern Warfare already has Gunfight, and it is one of the most popular, if not the most popular modes in the game at the moment. Well, according to Co-Design Director of Multiplayer Joe Cecot, the team discussed Face Off throwback playlist, which would bring the mode to bigger Gunfight maps.
"Love the idea of doing a face off throwback playlist. We’ve chatted about this with some of our smaller core or bigger gunfight maps," Cecot replied to a Twitter user who suggested the introduction of the mode.
Now, this is far from a confirmation but as you can see, the devs are discussing various options and since Face Off has been mentioned several times on Reddit and social media, it would not be surprising to see it re-introduced as a limited-time mode. We will have to wait and see if this happens, though.
