M4A1 is one of the best guns in the game at the moment

M4A1 Assault rifle is one of the best weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare but you can make it even better with various attachments and perks. Here are some of the best ones to make your gun feel steady but deadly.

A couple of days ago, Infinity Ward nerfed the M4A1 assault rifle, which proved to be one of the most powerful weapons in the game along with the deadly shotgun 725. Despite this, M4A1 is still a top tier weapon and you should definitely have one in your loadouts. It packs quite a punch and its recoil can be controlled easily on medium range.

M4A1 also comes with a ton of attachments slots, nine of them - to be more precise, but you can only have five installed at a time. Obviously, these attachments make the weapon even better and to help you increase your K/D ratio, we've made a couple of lists of the best attachments and some of our personal preferences.

First, we're going to take a look at the attachments that Call of Duty pros use. If you want to be the best, just do what the best are doing, right? Here are the attachments from Seth 'Scump' Abner, one of the game's greatest players of all time:

  • Barrel: Corvus Custom Marksman
  • Optic: G.I. Mini Reflex
  • Stock: Singuard Arms Invader
  • Underbarrel: Merc Foregrip
  • Rear Grip: Rubberized Grip Tape

Here's another one from Austin SlasheR Liddicoat:

  • Barrel: Stock M16 Grenadier
  • Optic: G.I. Mini Reflex
  • Stock: Singaurd Arms Invader
  • Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
  • Rear Grip: Granulated Grip Tape

As you can see, these are pretty similar and both Scump and SlasheR use the same slots but with different attachments under the barrel, underbarrel and rear grip and these come down to personal preference.

  • Barrel: FFS 11.5" Commando
  • Laser: 1mW Laser
  • Optic: G.I. Mini Reflex
  • Stock: No Stock
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Tape

If you're looking for a run and gun loadout with M4A1, these would be the best choices for attachments. While assault rifles are usually not the best option for this type of playstyle, with this setup, you should be able to win those close-combat battles against SMGs but don't expect to beat the 725.

  • Barrel: Stock M16 Grenadier
  • Optic: Cronen C480 Pro Optic
  • Stock: M16 Stock
  • Underbarrel: Merc Foregrip
  • Rear Grip: Rubberized Grip Tape

This one is for those who prefer medium to long-range engagements, which is why you get the excellent C480 optic and the long M16 Grenadier barrel. It's a great setup for holding key spots on the map, watching the enemy paths and taking them out from distance.

  • Muzzle: Muzzle Brake
  • Barrel: Stock M16 Grenadier
  • Optic: Cronen C480 Pro Optic
  • Underbarrel: Merc Foregrip
  • Perk: FMJ

Mind you, we are by no means pros but we were once accused of cheating - that's how good we were. As you can see from our picks, this one is a lot different but it really does the job for us. We're quite satisfied with the recoil and damage and while our mobility is not exactly the best, we were never really the run and gun type to begin with.
