The next year's Call of Duty game will be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, according to reliable insider Tom Henderson.
Rumour has it that the next year's Call of Duty game will be a direct sequel to 2019's Call of Duty Modern Warfare.
It's safe to assume that Infinity Ward will be helming the project since the Modern Warfare series is their creation after all.
No official details about the game have been revealed since Activision is fully focused on the upcoming Call of Duty Vanguard, which is releasing early next month.
However, reliable insider Tom Henderson claims that according to his sources "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II" is the name of Call of Duty 2022.
While this is just a rumour at thing point, Henderson has been a reliable source for Call of Duty info for many many years so you probably don't have to take it with a massive grain of salt.
The info also sounds pretty reasonable. It's Infinity Ward's turn to make a Call of Duty game after Treyarch's Black Ops Cold War and Sledgehammer Games' Vanguard, which is releasing soon.
We know that Activision rotate their in house studios to create a new Call of Duty game every year.
All in all, Call of Duty Modern Warfare II as the next Call of Duty game definitely sounds exciting since 2019's Modern Warfare was arguably one of the best Call of Duty games of the last decade.
Hopefully, Infinity Ward make the sequel even more intriguing and memorable.
