BioWare says Dragon Age: The Veilguard is still a tactical game. In their recent Discord Q&A session, the developers revealed a number of details about the game Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and BioWare said that they did not give up the tactical element in the battle.
First of all, chronologically the story will be set 10 years after Dragon Age: Inquisition and in the game we will see the return of the Inquisitor whose history we will be able to define before playing.
Although the game does not have an open world format, it will be possible to return to previously visited locations - moreover, it is mentioned that the locations will change throughout the story depending on the player's decisions.
All other details
Side quests in the game will always have a story and will not, like in Inquisition, be "go and get me" type of generic quests. In the game, we will have a base called The Lighthouse that we will arrange, and its purpose will change over time.
- They also state that they are the chattiest characters yet, so much so that they had to introduce a temporary pause in character communication that can be resumed after the action is over
- The appearance of comrades (equipment and clothes) will be able to be changed
- Teammates will leave the team when you anger them, and in the story they can even die
BioWare says that tactics is still an important thing in the game, especially on higher difficulty settings: e.g. by pausing the action, you can see information about the enemy (what are his weaknesses and strengths), and by performing combo moves with your teammates in the correct order, you can reach the so-called detonation.
The player will be able to choose between three classes: Warrior, Rogue and Mage, of which wizards have three specializations: Combat, Elemental and Necromancer.
