Electronic Arts is continuing their deep dives into EA Sports FC 27, providing further insight on features coming to Ultimate Team this season. EA Sports FC 27 launches September 25 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
Among the biggest updates to Ultimate Team this season is the introduction of the FUT Gallery. This new feature is designed to allow players to display their Ultimate Team accomplishments across a season while gaining rewards from long-term progression.
Gallery Sets will act as persistent menus tracking items players have earned throughout the season. Rather than simply tracking cards players collect, these Galleries are centered around categories like clubs, leagues, nations, promotions, and more. Players then place footballers into these menus to earn grades dependent on card quality, rewarding players faster for submitting higher rated items and special cards.
Finishing Gallery Sets will level up players’ overall Gallery Level, rewarding cosmetics, Gallery Tokens, and other bonuses. The Gallery will also be transformed into its own explorable 3D area that players unlock and expand over the course of a season, displaying everything they’ve earned while playing Ultimate Team. Another massive quality-of-life change is being implemented to Squad Building Challenges.
Rather than forcing players to build an entire squad just to fit chemistry, position, and overall rating requirements, players will be able to simply complete Player and Upgrade SBCs by dropping eligible cards from their club. Progress towards completion will be awarded based on a new point-scaling system utilizing player ratings and card rarity. This should allow for much faster grinding of repeat SBCs without removing important decision-making factors.
EA is continuing to expand on Evolution upgrades by introducing Pathways. Some Evolution upgrades will grant players multiple options for how they can develop their player. Instead of being locked into a single route, players can now decide whether they want to focus their Evolution on boosting attack stats or improving defense.
Players will also be able to better plan out how their players will evolve in the future.Ultimate Team players will also be receiving a Campaign Hub where they can view all newly available content for the season.
Newly announced objectives, Squad Building Challenges, Live Events, and seasonal activities can be viewed here. Speaking of Live Events, players can look forward to single player challenges where they take on AI clubs in addition to the typical multiplayer-focused events.
