BioWare Studio’s General Manager and Executive Producer on Dragon Age, Gary McKay, revealed yesterday in his blog some juicy details concerning the upcoming Dragon Age game that was previously known as Dragon Age: DreadWolf. .
The next instalment in the Dragon Age saga will have a new name, and it will be called Dragon Age: Veilguard. McKay said that the reason for changing the name is mostly the great connection between the seven main characters and that this name simply suits the whole theme and gameplay better, while, as he stated Dread Wolf will still be an important part of the upcoming game.
"The Dread Wolf still has an important part in this tale, but you and your companions—not your enemies—are the heart of this new experience. So, to capture what this game is all about, we changed the name, as the original title didn’t show just how strongly we feel about our new heroes, their stories, and how you’ll need to bring them together to save all of Thedas." Gary McKay said.
Apart from a new name revelation, McKay proudly invited us to set June 11 as an important date in our calendars because that's when the reveal trailer is going to be released on the Dragon Age YouTube channel, with, as he said, around 15 minutes of gameplay from the opening moments of the game that has you jumping back into Thedas on your new adventure.
If BioWare and EA do the job with Dragon Age: Veilguard like they did with the previous installments, and truth be told, we don't see the reason for it to be any other way, we have a lot to look forward to. According to some previous reports, we can probably expect Dragon Age: Veilguard to be released sometimes during 2025; however, on June 11, we'll know for sure.
