Awesome Games Done Quick is ramping up for another go at charity speed runs and will take place in early January 2018. Just over two months ahead of the event, the organizers have announced the full list of featured games and speed runs.
Earth's greatest convention of glitches, exploits and masterful skill in a wide variety of games will commence on 06 January 2019 in order to show the world that many of the perceived "hard" games can be done in less than an hour.
AGDQ 2019 has now revealed the full roster of the games, featuring projected 183 hours, one minute and 23 seconds of running through the entire roster. That said, this number can change leading up to the event, as speed run applications are open until 07 October 2018.
We took notice of particular few runs that we chose to highlight, such as TheMexicanRunner's attempt at Cuphead with a timer set on 1:10:00. Considering Cuphead's difficulty, this should be one of the fan favourites, much like the in Battletoads was. It is the same runner after all.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 is a deep game, much like its predecessor which could swallow hours on end with crafting alone, and even longer when the rest of the game's elements kick in. Semanari would have none of it and the run is set on a 27 minute timer for game completion. It's worth noting that this run will be done on the "old" version of the game, as Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition came out only recently, and probably patched up some of the exploits required for the run.
Dead Cells is probably the most anticipated addition to AGDQ's game roster and the upcoming event seemingly confirms it - there are three runners registered to complete it in 20 minutes or less. Studio, scaz.zaf and ChurchnSarge will be duking it out for prestige along with charity.
