Publisher Larian Studios has announced that Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Players who have purchased the game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch can upgrade to these versions for free.
In addition to the free upgrade, new players will also be able to step into Rivellon at a heavily discounted rate for a limited time, making the Definitive Edition more accessible than ever - whether you're coming back to the game after Baldur’s Gate 3, or playing for the first time on modern consoles.
Free next-gen upgrade explained
Those who bought Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition on previous-generation systems can upgrade to the PS5, Xbox Series or Switch 2 versions for free. Save data from previous systems has also been made compatible, allowing returning players to pick up right where they left off without having to start from scratch.
Larian has not yet explained all of the specific technical upgrades, but the enhancements include faster load times, more stable performance and optimisation for modern systems. Overall, these changes help the game’s tactical combat and detailed environments to run more smoothly and responsively than they did previously.
