Arc Raiders has announced its Riven Tides update, dropping on April 28. “Reclaim the Coast” will feature a new map and gameplay additions including a new enemy type and short-term event full of rewards.
Players will venture to the west coast of the Rust Belt, where they’ll find a forgotten coast full of stories told through lootables and environmental clues. Players will find coastal cliffsides covered in resorts, as well as cargo ship dockyards that feature verticality and open spaces for combat.
New Map, Enemy and Gameplay Features
While developers stress that each location will have its own stories to tell, players will dive into the Riven Tides map when the update drops. This coastal map was abandoned by settlers more than once, which means players will traverse abandoned destinations like the Exodus port or the Panorama Azzurro resort.
Players will also have to watch their backs as the new ARC Turbine enemies patrol the map. These robots look harmless as they float around but will engage your party in a hectic battle once you attack it.
Due to its defensive stats, it may prove to be one of the tougher enemies introduced to date. Arc Raiders is also introducing Beachcombing, a new lesser map condition players will want to track. Players can bring a Dockmaster’s Detector to scan the sands of coastlines, but they’ll have to pry loot out of the dirt on their own.
The Detector also takes up inventory space as a weapon, so players will have to risk getting into the open to try and find rare loot. Travel will see new additions to help players better handle falls and climb.
Limited-Time Event
Players can acquire both a Crash Mat to slow fall damage and Powered Descender to help better navigate your surroundings. Players will have until May 25 to complete tasks in the Last Resort event.
Earn Merits to unlock cosmetics, new emotes, and Raider Tokens. Arc Raiders is also introducing a new Raider Project called Avian Alarm that players can work on to unlock even more cosmetics.
Multiple stages will be available for players to progress through. Players can expect new cosmetics to be added throughout the month of May as well. Overall, the Riven Tides update looks to be a large drop that players can expect both vertically and in combat.
