Arc Raiders is getting one of its biggest graphics boosts yet with update 1.26 releasing on April 28. A more advanced PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaling will be introduced to PS5 Pro systems, allowing for crisper visuals and better visual fidelity overall.
Arc Raiders’ expansive landscapes and kinetic shooter gameplay make for a fantastic base game to further improve with upscaling tech.
Upgraded Visuals Without Performance Cost
This upgraded version of PSSR utilizes AI upscaling tech that essentially “samples” each frame and predicts what a cleaner image should look like. From developer comments, we can expect far sharper looking images overall, including in gameplay that has large amounts of motion.
Players should especially see a reduction of noise in the images. Flickering and shimmering is common in detailed areas or ultra busy firefights, but this image instability should be vastly improved with the upgrade.
Motion clarity is another area that’ll greatly benefit from this update. Objects moving at high speeds should showcase cleaner outlines and less blur, helping to retain as much detail as possible during hectic situations.
Upscaling can often have a tough time here, but this should alleviate any shortcomings. Players will also see ghosting effects minimized on translucent materials like rain, particles, and light bleed.
These things will look cleaner than ever, helping you stay immersed without weird graphical anomalies. The upgrade should also not affect performance in any way, allowing you to enjoy the improved image quality without sacrificing framerate on PS5 Pro.
Update 1.26 releasing on April 28 will carry this upgrade, but standard PS5 owners will still utilise TSR upscaling as usual.
