In the dev stream that teased Season 4 content, Respawn said that World's Edge will be getting some changes once Apex Legends: Assimilation kicks off in February, but now we know where the first changes are likely to pop up.
In case you didn't recognise the location right away, it's the area between the Thermal Station and Fuel Depot - the one you arrive at when leaving the Train Yard via the underground tunnel that holds the Vault.
As for the contents of the billboard, Hammond Robotics should be a household name to Titanfall fans, as it's one of the major manufacturers of military and civilian robotics in the franchise. In fact, Pathfinder belongs to Hammond's MRVN line (Mobile Robotic Versatile eNtity), the un-high-five-able robots that are a clever nod to the late and great Douglas Adams.
The dev did mention that the changes are likely to have something to do with Hammond, and even though the earlier data mines uncovered that teasers are on their way , they didn't quite anticipate it will be billboards. Several of World's Edge locations are said to be heading for a refresh in Apex Legends: Assimilation, so expect more billboards in the future.
Respawn continue to deepen their battle royale's footprint in the Titanfall universe and the map change is not the only thing that's coming from Hammond Robotics. Namely, newly announced character Forge is the first Apex Legends character that's corporate-sponsored, and the sponsor is, you've guessed it, Hammond themselves.
Respawn said that Forge is a brawler and he does look like an in-your-face type of guy, but we're yet to learn of the specific skills he'll be wielding. Assimilation will also introduce a number of changes for Apex Legends' Ranked Mode , including the new Master Tier, temporary Predator trails and two-split season, where the second split is played on the Kings Canyon.
