Anthem got a much-need update from the dev yesterday, and in addition to the revamped loot and equipment systems, Bioware showed some work-in-progress weapons.

Head of Bioware's Austin studio, Christian Dailey, has been far more active on Twitter than Anthem's official account, but we suppose it's understandable as he is in charge of what has to be one of the most difficult jobs ever.

Dailey has already warned that the transparent approach to Anthem's (re)development comes with knowing how the sausage was made. In other words, work-in-progress stuff is often not very pretty, but the ideas behind them should be so here goes.

What you see below is some new weapon concepts that are based on the in-game factions, and they do look quite tasty.

"In addition to loot and equipment, there are some really good improvements to the feel and types of items we are supporting. Gunplay is overall more responsive with enemies reacting to hits near instantly with improved client-side prediction, we are looking into the role of melee items and builds, and of course, being able to spend skill points to unlock new types of equipment and synergies. One of the things I am most excited about is seeing all the awesome new weaponry concepts based on our factions", Dailey wrote.

Now, we can't blame you for refusing to be excited, or simply being unable to, but we share Dailey's excitement over the designs, if nothing else then for intent.

If you're more interested in Anthem's loot and rewards, which were detailed in the same update, you can learn more here . Yes, you'll be able to reroll inscriptions.
