Three years after the release of Overpass, a true off-road driving simulator, the game's developers, Nacon, made the decision to release a sequel with, in their words, improved graphics, more off-road vehicles, and an improved off-road experience.
The fact that the first game was not particularly well received by the audience did not bother the developers enough, so they ultimately decide to develop its sequel.
Apart from improved graphics, the developers also promise better physics, new vehicle models, and different terrains such as snowy mountains, muddy terrains, and vast deserts. To be more precise, the game will feature five different environments to drive in.
As the developers state in the reveal trailer, Overpass 2 will feature 35 different off-road licensed vehicles that we will be able to drive on 31 new off-road tracks. Each truck will be customizable, and the game will also feature five different modes.
As for the graphics, they look really improved in comparison to the first game, if the footage from the trailer is to be believed. In some sequences, modern reflections on the hood of a vehicle are clearly visible, which suggests that the game will probably support ray tracing technology, among other modern graphic settings.
Overpass 2 is set to be released on October 19, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The old consoles will not be supported, which also suggests that the game might be very graphically advanced.
