Atlas has received its most substantial update since launching into Early Access back in December 2018. The new patch brings numerous bug fixes, reduces Sea monsters' damage up to 66 per cent, fixes flag claims and boosts tamed creatures.
The latest update is now live on Steam and according to the developer, it's their biggest update thus far. Patch V10 brings Neutral Zone setting to Claim Flags which will allow other companies or players to build within them, with a specified tax rate applied.
This means that other players can build on your claims and pay taxes for using the land. It's a great way to earn money for island owners but it's not a smart idea to build on someone else's territory unless it's just a temporary solution. Players will also be able to define an inclusion or exclusion list to allow or deny specific company IDs to build on their soil.
Grapeshot Games also included a bunch of creature related changes. Sea monsters will now deal 66 per cent less damage while tamed creatures can now take 20 per cent more damage. Tames' HP and damage scaling have been nerfed by about 40 per cent, and cannon and explosion damage to tames is increased 50 per cent.
Wild Alpha creatures have also been nerfed, their HP and damage are reduced by 20 per cent. Lion, scorpion and crocodile stats have seen some minor changes. Lions will no longer dismount players from big creatures such as elephants. Scorpions will no longer attack larger animals while crocodiles have been slowed down to increase players' odds in previously one-sided battles.
Additionally, V10 includes server performance optimisation which will hopefully help with disconnects and lag. The developer also fixed a bug where players would be stuck in a crouched position and adjusted some ship costs - in some cases reduced by half.
In case you didn't know, eating poop is bad for you and the developer made that clear in the patch notes. If you decide to do it anyway it will mean insta-death as hilarious as that sounds.
