Atlas' latest roadmap reveals planned additions for March and they include a new war system, player shops and world redesign among other things. The devs also confirmed that all official servers will be wiped once the new update launches.
After the initial hype and surrounding the new survival title Atlas MMO settled down, the developers Grapeshot Games released a couple of updates which mainly focused on server optimisations and performance improvements.
In their latest update, Grapeshot Games have revealed a full roadmap for March 2019, and it looks like the pirate-themed MMO will get some fresh additions including a new Submarine vehicle, new locations and many quality of life improvements.
The developers listed the new additions in primary and secondary milestones and the ones which they consider a priority are world redesign, land claim revamp and a new war system.
With the world redesign patch, the devs aim to provide players with more land to use for their bases and to introduce changes to some existing locations. For example, the Eastern Tundra location now has its own visual design, totally separate from the Western Tundra style. On top of that, more than 200 islands have been added to the map.
As for the claim system, players will now be able to build wherever they want, without owning a settlement. Claimed islands will now be known as settlements and only one claim flag can be placed per island. Furthermore, islands will have a rank based on their location, size and how valuable they are.
If you decide to take over the island from another player, you'll have to purchase a pricey war token which can be used to declare war on the island. The war must be scheduled so the date suits both players and will last a fixed period of time.
March will also add a new environment to Atlas named Deep Ocean Trench. It's an area guarded by powerful underwater creatures and home to the new Giant Crab which is a tamable creature.
