Publisher THQ Nordic have dropped new gameplay and a short demo for their highly-anticipated horror Alone in the Dark.
During the Alone in the Dark showcase, the publisher THQ Nordic have revealed a bunch of new details and gameplay for their upcoming horror game.
In an 11-minute video, the devs talked about the game's story, world and characters and we also got to see Stranger Things' David Harbour who plays the private investigator Edward Carnby and Jodie Comer, who appeared in the Last Duel and Killing Eve.
The story kicks off when Jeremy Hartwood, who is haunted by the Dark Man, goes to a countryside hospital to get some help. Jeremy sends a disturbing letter to his niece (played by Jodie Comer), who gets spooked and decides to hire a detective (David Harbour) to try and find out what's going on.
The devs said that depending on who you play, the people at the hospital will react differently and even the story will be slightly different so playing the game two times is recommended.
As for the gameplay we've seen, it looks pretty atmospheric as Alone in the Dark should be. The team promises intense and though combat and we've seen some of the glimpses of that in the trailer.
And last but certainly not least, there's a very short Prologue demo that you can play right now on all platforms! We played it through before writing this article and while it's indeed very short, it does give us glimpses of this eerie world that we'll get to play soon.
You may wonder how soon? Well, the official release date is set for October 25, 2023, so just in time for Halloween.
Alone in the Dark will be available on PC , PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S .
