Konami's worst-kept secret has finally been revealed officially but it did carry a surprise with it.
Konami had to reveal Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake sooner rather than later due to the mass leaks and rumours surrounding the game but they still managed to keep one secret up until the teaser's debut.
The trailer happened during the PlayStation Showcase and it no longer has "3" in the name.
Instead, it sports a delta sign in the title, possibly signifying some changes from the original.
The first worry on the fans' mind was that the dialogue and plot would be changed but Konami claims it is a faithful recreation of the original.
"The remake will star the original voice characters, rich storyline and expansive features of combat survival in harsh environments evolved with unprecedented graphics and immersive sound." ~ Konami
Therefore, it remains to be seen what delta refers to or if it's simply a way to distance Konami from Hideo Kojima, who was still on board back in the day when the game came out.
Additionally, the original game with HD treatment will be available in the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 alongside the two titles that preceded it.
Metal Gear Solid Delta will be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
