South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have signed a massive $900 million deal to expand the South Park universe with new projects, which include a new 3D video game.

South Park is getting bigger with several new projects that will be released over the next six years. The creators of this iconic franchise Trey Parker and Matt Stone have signed a mammoth deal with ViacomCBS, that will pay them more than $900 million, which is one of the biggest deals in the history of television, Bloomberg reports.

Here is the official announcement from South Park :

MTV Entertainment Studios announced today a new and expansive deal with co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone which includes extending South Park on Comedy Central through 2027 and taking cable’s longest-running scripted series – 2022 marks the franchise’s 25th – through an unprecedented 30th season in 2027.

The official statement does not mention video games but Bloomberg states that Parker and Stone have funds available and will be making a new 3D video game.

"In addition to the movies for Paramount+, Parker and Stone are going to use that money to invest in a wide range of creative endeavours, including a documentary series, a weed company and a 3D video game that is set in the world of South Park," they state in the report.

At the moment, there are no details about the video game. We do not know who is going to helm the project or when it could release. The last two big titles - Stick of Truth and The Fractured But Whole - were published by Ubisoft with the former being developed by legendary RPG studio Obsidian Entertainment, who are now under the Xbox Game Studios umbrella.

It's safe to say that fans of the franchise would love to see Obsidian return to the helm but that doesn't seem likely unless Microsoft decided to partner up with South Park Studios for an exclusive game.

Hopefully, we'll get more details in the near future. Until then, you should definitely check out the previous games if you haven't by now.
