Ubisoft have recently announced that they will concentrate more on quality over quantity with focusing on Assassin's Creed: Origins support and switching to 2 years between new installments for the series. This may apply to their business model in general, according to a slide from a presentation by the company.

There won't be a sequel to Rainbow 6 Siege

Rainbow Six Siege is getting a "games as a service" treatment. Ubisoft is currently more interested in the longevity of their title than in developing a sequel. Rainbow 6 Siege will get 100 Operators total. In-game loot boxes will be available for a limited time and only offer cosmetics.

Ubisoft is determined to keep Rainbow Six Siege fresh, to the point of adding a whole new game mode in co-op format for a four week long event. Outbreak also aims to create more character depth for the existing operators seen through cinematics.

Ubisoft is holding another free weekend for Rainbow Six Siege. The free weekend will start on 15 February 2018 and end on different days depending on your preferred platform. Owners of Rainbow Six Siege will soon start getting the game's third year of content updates.

Ubisoft released its sales figures for the third fiscal quarter of 2017-18. The report shows that the sales have surpassed the targeted amount. Ubisoft expects the sales form the fourth quarter to come in at approximately £398.76 million.

Matti Hietanen, creator of the photo mode for The Division got banned by Ubisoft for creating the quick access tool for HUD-less screenshots. The software isn't a cheating tool so the tides might turn.

Far Cry 5 story trailer pits players against religious cult

With Far Cry 5 launch fast approaching, Ubisoft has rolled out a new story trailer for the game and revealed the goodies awaiting the game's season pass holders. So, players who go for the season pass will be treated to the game itself, three DLCs as well as Far Cry 3: Classic Edition.

Ghost Recon Wildlands has loot boxes now

Ubisoft has unleashed a new update for their Ghost Recon Wildlands. The latest patch to go live in the game has brought a new game mode for PvP, some new maps and Battle Crates. The newly added loot boxes will feature cosmetic items that'll have "no impact on the weapon stats".

Rainbow Six Pro League's new formula

Ubisoft is making some changes to the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Pro League formula. In the future, the Pro League will consist of two Seasons. Each season will last six months. A "Six Major" tournament will take place in Paris in August, on top of the Six Invitational.

Far Cry 5 PC specs and system requirements

With Far Cry 5's release date approaching, Ubisoft shared the game's minimum and recommended requirements. The announcement also came with news about additional features. Far Cry 5 will launch in March.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew got a non-VR option

Ubisoft and Red Storm have removed the VR requirement from their Star Trek: Bridge Crew. The game is now playable on PlayStation 4 and PC without a VR headset. Cross-play between VR and non-VR users is enabled.

Watch Dogs and Oxenfree join the freebie wagon

You’ve got to love the holiday season if not for the Christmas trees and whatnot, then for the game deals - and what better deals than freebies. End of 2017 has turned into a cheapskate heaven, as it seems world plus dog is giving away flagship games and now Watch Dogs and Oxenfree have joined the ranks of proud games that decided to get out of the premium closet. Yeah, lame joke, but hey, I’m on a tight schedule here. Anyhow, onto the goodies.

Ghost Recon Wildlands' new Predator Challenge

Ubisoft is giving you the gift of the '80s horror with the new Predator Challenge. A new class of soldier inspired by Dutch will be available in the game's PvP mode. The free event will end sometime in early January.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag goes free

Second half of 2017 has brought so many freebies it’s getting a bit difficult to keep track and now Ubisoft decided to follow suit and is giving away free copies of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. The company has also published a documentary called ‘Into the Creed’, showing how the game managed to change a few lives along the way and you can view it above.

Ubisoft is giving away two games on Uplay this month, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag and World in Conflict: Complete Edition, due to 10th anniversaries of World in Conflict and first Assassin's Creed game.
