​​​​​​​​The Xbox One is Microsoft's seventh-generation home console, released in November 2013 as a direct competitor to the PlayStation 4. Initially pitched as an all-in-one entertainment device, the Xbox One eventually shifted focus back to gaming, introducing features such as backward compatibility, Xbox Game Pass, and Play Anywhere titles. The console family grew to include the Xbox One S and Xbox One X, the latter of which delivered native 4K gaming before the line was succeeded by the Xbox Series X|S in 2020.
