There's quite a lot going on in Respawn Entertainment-land these days, what with Town Takeover Mirage's Voyage and Winter Express LTM in full swing, but it didn't take long for the discussion around skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) to bounce back into the spotlight.

Just to get you up to speed, Apex Legends' SBMM has been one of the most talked-about topics for a while now, both when it comes to ranked and casual play.

One of the most common complaints in ranked play is that Platinum rank players often end up playing against stacks of Predators, which clearly gets old pretty quick. Others, however, claim that Ranked play is a breeze compared to what awaits them in Play Apex mode, which they find anything but casual.

Prominent Apex Legends player and streamer Dizzy, who not long ago , recently tweeted "Remove SBMM from the "Play Apex" playlist please". While he didn't give any further explanation for his tweet, it's pretty clear that he too finds the casual games quite sweaty

This echoes the opinion of his former colleague from NRG, Aceu, who also slammed , even if he was a bit more vocal. Namely, he noted, sarcastically, how Respawn seem to be going for the world record in how quickly can they ruin a perfectly good game.

Respawn don't really seem interested in having a discussion on Apex Legends' SBMM, and they are the ones who have all the numbers, but it's pretty clear that something about the system isn't quite right.

As you probably know, Apex Legends' latest event is all about Mirage and if you still haven't figured out how to start the party at Mirage's Voyage, you can find out here . And while you're at it, you can check out .
