LCG Entertainment, the relaunched Telltale Games, seem like they will have a treat in the store for the fans of the narrative-focused Batman: The Telltale Series. It is called Batman: Shadows Edition and should be officially announced soon.
Telltale Games underwent massive restructuring which included layoffs and the demise of the studio throughout 2018 and rebirth under the name LCG Entertainment in 2019. As the new Telltale kicked off with more of The Walking Dead and now it seems like their focus has shifted on the Batman IP.
Unfortunately for those who wanted to see new adventures of the Caped Crusader, the upcoming project will not be a new game. Instead, the leak coming from Sabi is pointing to a relaunch of the first two seasons of Telltale's Batman. On the other hand, there are also pointers that the new release will not include The Enemy Within so it's something to keep in mind.
Batman: Shadows Edition will include a visual update for the relaunch so it can be technically classified as a remaster with a new name. The features do not stop there though. Apparently, there will be a noir-style visual filter that is set to bring Batman to fans in a new light or lack thereof. This information is not coming from Sabi's leak directly though, as it originated in the press release that was supposed to happen on 5 December 2019 but was quickly scrapped after being posted.
According to the screenshot of the press release, via Rectify Gaming , the title will cost $29.99 for new buyers or $4.99 for those who already own the base Batman game.
The reasons for pulling the press release currently do not have an official explanation but it's possible that there is a conflict of promoting both The Wolf Among Us 2 and Batman: Shadows Edition at the same time.
