Fortnite has been the world's most popular game for many years now and 2019 was another successful year for Epic Games' free to play shooter. According to the latest report from Gamesindustry.biz, Fortnite has been the most covered game of 2019.
The cartoon-style shooter is top of the list with 97,732 articles which is more than double when compared to the closest rival on the list - Death Stranding. Kojima Productions' title appeared in 46,743 articles, which is not surprising since it was wrapped in mystery for a long time before the release. The mixed reception also helped and the game was a subject of many opinion pieces, features and news for quite some time.
Another free to play title is in third. Respawn Entertainment's Apex Legends reached 42,474 while Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is behind with 41,881. Here is the full list of top 15 most covered games in 2019:
