The Division 2 trolled you if you played through Capitol Hill mission by dropping an exotic item that can't be used. This guide should provide you with a concise explanation of how to use that to craft the Liberty Exotic D50 weapon.

Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment pulled a proper prank on just about every player who went through Capitol Hill, at one point thinking they got themselves an Exotic item. As it turned out, this was only a crafting component and not an actual weapon.

Don't go into a rage though. as the Pistol Trigger & Mechanism can soon be crafted into a full Liberty Desert Eagle that will help you plough through enemy electronics, which is great considering the number of gadgets the Black Tusk use.

Anyway, the first step is to remember to keep any high-end D50 that you likely came across by that point. If you already sold or scrapped it, make sure you get another. Completing Invaded Potomac Event Center might help you with that, but otherwise, the D50 is just a random drop like any other high-end weapon. Bottom line - once you get it, keep it. The weapon is one of the crafting materials required for Liberty.

The other components are as follows:

  • You will need to do American History Museum on Hard Mode, so grab a group if you don't feel confident enough to solo it. Killing Captain Briggs will yield Pistol: Receiver & Paintjob component.
  • After that, you will need to do Viewpoint Museum, the annoying mission with EMP jammers, also on Hard Mode. Sargeant Carl Wade is the target you are looking for here, and he will drop Pistol: Sight & Rail.
  • Space Administration HQ is the last Hard Mode mission you will need, where Master Sargeant Steve "Junior" Quiroz will drop two crafting pieces - Pistol: Grip & Tags as well as Kendra's Liberty Blueprint.

Once you have all the components, just find any crafting bench and craft Liberty. While it may not be optimal in PvP, Liberty is great in PvE, excelling in combat versus Black Tusk.

The faction's explosive drones die in one shot, which will immediately proc the Blind Justice talent which will cause Liberty to have 500 per cent damage on the next shot. You can literally shoot a drone, shoot an enemy, shoot the second drone and shoot another enemy, which will cause your four shots to do 12 shots worth of damage, at least.

Furthermore, if Blind Justice kills an enemy, it will cause Liberty to refill its magazine and have double damage on the entire magazine.

While Black Tusk offers the most opportunities to make use of these due to the explosive drone spam, other factions also have weak points on them, which will work just as well. In case you are not aware of an enemy type's weak point location, Liberty will highlight them for you.

In case you don't like using secondary weapons, Liberty will still prove to be one of the best sidearms you can equip in PvE - it will refund 20 per cent of your currently equipped weapon's magazine whenever you destroy a weak point.
