In Samson, your car takes damage from collisions, pursuits, and general reckless driving around the city. The third gauge above the minimap tracks the condition of your vehicle, and once it drops low enough, the car will become undrivable. When that happens, you'll need to find a mechanic and pay to have it repaired before you can get back on the road.
Check your car's condition
Keep an eye on the third gauge sitting above the minimap in the bottom-left corner of the screen. This gauge reflects your vehicle's current state. The more damage you take, the lower it drops. Once it bottoms out, the car is no longer drivable, and you'll need a mechanic before going anywhere.
Find a mechanic on the map
Open the city map and look for the wrench icon. This marks the location of the nearest automotive garage. In Tyndalston, mechanics are found in the South End area of the city, reachable from the streets around Upper Market Street and Lower Market Street. Set a waypoint and make your way there on foot or in whatever condition your car is still in.
Drive into the garage
Once you arrive, you'll recognise the location by the 'Automotive Service' sign above the entrance. Pull up to the garage door, and it will open automatically. Drive inside to initiate the repair.
Pay for the repairs
The cost of the repair depends on how badly the car is damaged. Minor scrapes will cost considerably less, but a completely wrecked vehicle will run you around a thousand dollars. Make sure you have enough cash on hand before making the trip, or you'll be walking back empty-handed.
Extra tip
If you run out of cash and cannot repair your car, any other car will do. You'll even be able to finish a mission using a different car. This will help you raise the money needed to repair your car and finish the day properly. Look around the parking lot; there will always be another car to hop in.
In the parking lot near your apartment, there is always a car or two to use, and sometimes you'll be able to steal one by breaking its window and hotwiring it.
