Once inside the Testing area in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5, you'll come across a door locked by the emoticon signs. Here is how to unlock this door using two different tactics.

Poppy Playtime is a game of constant puzzles and occasional chase times, and the entire gameplay loop revolves around those two mechanics. The puzzles in this action horror from Mob Entertainment are very good, and I didn't run into a single one that didn't pose at least a bit of a challenge.

During the area called Testing, you'll have a huge puzzle to solve involving finding three different discs and unlocking a code-locked door, and while solving this puzzle, you might encounter a door locked by four emoji signs.

If you do, you'll probably want to open this door, but it is locked tight. So how do you open it? There are actually two ways to do this, and here, we're going to explain both.

The Location of the Emoji Door

As part of the bigger puzzle or objective, you'll have to find three memories contained inside three different discs. The second disc will be located inside the area you can shimmy to, next to the stacked boxes. Once inside this area, check out the doors located to the left from the place you entered.

This door is a regular blue door, but the only difference is a sort of keypad next to it, featuring four differently coloured emoji signs: Happy (yellow), angry (green), sad (blue), and scared (purple). Entering the correct combination will open this door.

Two Ways of Getting the Correct Combination

The first way is the simple trial-and-error method. Once you press the correct button, you'll hear a normal beeping sound, and if you make a mistake, you'll get a characteristic error sound. To guess the right combination, you'll have to keep pressing the buttons until you hear the error sound, then repeat the sequence but using a different button.

This can be exhausting, but it is possible to guess the right sequence this way. Once you hit six correct beeps, the door will open. However, there is a much simpler method, and it only requires a bit of patience and attention to detail.

During the third memory recollection, once you find and insert three discs, you'll experience a cutscene in which a scientist drags Huggy Wuggy and tries to open this very door, locked with the emojis. If you pay attention, you can hear the guard on the radio telling the scientist the correct sequence. Also, if you watch closely, you'll be able to see once the scientist enters this sequence.

If you've missed this detail, the correct sequence is happy, happy, angry, sad, scared, happy, or yellow, yellow, green, blue, purple, yellow. Once you enter the code correctly, the door will open.

You won't find much inside the newly unlocked room, of course, apart from the satisfaction of finally conquering this puzzle and one VHS tape you can insert inside a video recorder to watch a small video.
