Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2—How to get a bow early in the game

Bows are weapons of choice in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and whether you like to use them or not, you'll definitely need them for some encounters. Here is how to get a bow very early in the game.

Being a true RPG and all, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will require you to gather all sorts of equipment to rise your chance of survival in very harsh and very dangerous mediaeval Bohemia. Being well equipped often means the difference between life and death, so you'll do all you can to carry as better gear as you can.

Among many gear you can find and make in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the bows and crossbows will play a very important role, especially if you fancy hunting more than the average mediaeval person.

However, after the prologue, you'll be stripped of everything you have, and your first mission will be to gear yourself up, and you'll probably want to get a bow or a crossbow as well. If you don't know where to get one early in the game, we have just a guide for you.

How to get a bow or a crossbow early in the game

Once the game opens after the prologue, you'll start gathering resources and money to make the best of the current situation you find yourself in, meaning you'll need to do a couple of jobs to earn some coin, find a place to spend a night, and, of course, buy or steal new weapons, according to your preferences—this is an RPG after all, so you can do whatever you please, but mind the consequences.

Regardless of your class choice at the beginning of the game, you'll be stripped of everything after the prologue, so if you cannot imagine yourself working without ranged weapons, here is what you must do to get it.

Our advice is to earn some coin first by doing several easy quests, and once you have the money, find a carpenter to buy yourself a bow or a crossbow. The first carpenter you'll encounter is located inside Troskowitz, just a couple of metres to the south of the fast travel point.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2—Huntsman Vostatek's hut is located to the west of Tachov

He is doing some woodwork to the right as you enter his property. The prices of the bows are not that high, really, and they range from 18,5 to 57 Groshens, depending on their quality. If, however, you don't want to spend your hard-earned coin on bows, you can always loot one from a dead poacher's body.

Go to the west of Tachov, and you'll come across huntsman Vostatek's hut, and his wife will give you the quest to look for him. In this quest, you'll encounter some pouchers, but beware; they are pretty tough, and facing them head-on will mean almost certain defeat. Instead, try to go around their camp and quickly dispose of one poacher and loot his body; he will have a bow on him.

Then go to the other side and steel the horse, as this is your objective in this quest, but remember, if you want a bow, you must kill one of the poachers that sits at the western part of the camp, and you'll be able to sneak up on him easily so it won't be too much of a problem.
