Lalee Leewaylender is an NPC that will make fun of cryptocurrency but also offer you to buy loot boxes, with each one of them costing one Tiny Diamond.
Given the opaque nature of loot boxes, one has to ask themselves if they are throwing money away.
Well, this time around, you are safe to buy them as the rewards will be roughly four times cheaper than the counterparts that you can purchase directly and one of the rewards is the coveted Metaviron which is quite rare in the game.

- Combat Stim
- X70 7.62 NATO ammo
- X18 Parts
- Stick Grenade
- X2 Flashbangs
- Grenade
- M1014 shotgun
One important thing to know is that loot boxes are profitable only for the first five purchases. After that, you will keep getting nothing.
Therefore, if you just go and buy five loot boxes from Lalee, you will come out much better for it. The diamonds required are worth $2,500 and that goes down to $2,000 with the rebate where you get two diamonds from one box. Additionally, if you give Metaviron to Larry, he will join your team and work free of charge.
We would highly suggest keeping five diamonds in your inventory to trade with Lalee as soon as possible since M1014 is not available until much later in the game, assuming you visit Fleatown early on, upon leaving the starter island.
