Haemimont Games will send Jagged Alliance 3 players on several treasure hunts, some of which will take them all over the map.
One such instance is the Treasure at the Farms mission where the players will have to visit at least four farms in order to find the hidden treasure.
Starting Treasure at the Farms
You can start the mission at any of the farms involved, although it is recommended to do it in the Middle of Nowhere in sector A11, where the players can meet the cranky Mario, who will hint that his father sold the better farm to Mr Gattz. During your stay at the farm, you can also stick around to defend the couple and Courage the not-so-cowardly hyena. You will be rewarded with a diamond.
The Middle of... clues
In order to be able to find the treasure, you will need to get three clues from Mario's relatives, be it Pa Baggs' descendants or his wife. You will find the clues at:
- Middle of Elsewhere (E5)
- Middle of Everywhere (I13)
- Middle of Anywhere (C15)
At each farm, you will have to fight off a few hostiles and then exhaust the dialogue with the NPC that has a yellow marker above their head until you get a clue. For example, Ma Baggs in the Middle of Elsewhere will tell you the treasure is likely buried in a field of corn.
Similarly, the other two farms will provide the clues that the treasure is close to a tree and under a rock.
Digging up the treasure at the farms
With the three clues in your journal, proceed to Middle of Somewhere at K20, the farm that Mr Gattz obtained from the late Pa Baggs. If you have the clues, the treasure will highlight itself close to the same red-leaf tree that can be found on all of the "Middle of..." farms.
When you loot the treasure, Gattz will turn hostile, you will need to put him down and the mission will be completed.
Visiting the farm before getting the clues will bear no fruit as the treasure will not be highlighted for you to dig it up.
