EA and DICE announced that Battlefield 2042 Arkangel Directive event will start on July 11, 2023, and finish two weeks later on July 25.
In terms of lore, the name refers to the Arkangel PMC that is used by both sides of the conflict that has been raging for over a decade.
In terms of what you get, there is a limited-time mode and playing it will give you cosmetics.
Battlefield 2042 Control details
The game mode is played 24v24 on Reclaimed, Orbital and Valparaiso maps. Rotating objectives will pop up around the map and you need to hold them to get points for your team.
Multiple objectives can pop up at the same time in true Battlefield fashion where smaller squads can face off against each other. With all that in mind, the objectives will spawn in fixed spots so make sure to memorise them so you can get a head start the next time around.
Doing well will allow you to call in vehicles which will obviously be a major boon for the team that has them.
