Jagged Alliance 3 has quite a few unique weapons in its arsenal and if you are looking for a shotgun, you are in luck.
AA-12 can be somewhat tricky to acquire if you are looking for an automatic shotgun so Ma Baxter's Argument Invalidator is the perfect replacement until then.
How to get Ma Baxter's Argument Invalidator
The weapon is obtained through a short quest in Port Cacao Docks, which can be visited extremely early into the game. When you get there, speak with Headshot Hue and ask him what is wrong with Lurch.
He will explain the double headshot incident and express his worries about the shotgun in the bar, which belonged to Lurch's late mother. At that point, Hue will come up with a plan that involves you getting him a red wig so he can grab the weapon for himself.
You have two options where you can get the wig. One is in The Rust from the Baroness but the easier option is in the neighbouring sector, Port Cacao itself. Go there, clear out the Legion enemies that attack the fancy building but don't place your mercs in cover behind cars until they explode.
When the Legion is dealt with, go to Fisherman Itsadi's shop. He will only take Bags of Grand Chien Franks as payment so if you carried some along, it will be great. If not, you can blow a hole in the neighbouring building with any explosive and steal as many bags as you like. Trade one bag for the red wig, and don't forget to grab the other goodies in his shop as they are way more valuable than the Franks.
Go back to the docks and give the wig to Hue.
At that point, Hue will impersonate Ma Baxter, cheat Lurch out of the shotgun and then you can buy it from him. The shotgun will cost $2,000 normally but with the right perk or trait, you can get it down to $1,000.
