There are a few archetype changes in Destiny 2 that will hopefully shake up the sandbox, with more changes on the way.

Bungie revealed the mid-season changes to weapon archetypes in Destiny 2, noting that more significant changes will happen with the start of the next season, on August 23, 2023.

In the meantime, there are changes to pulse rifles, bows, SMGs and shotguns to play with in the meantime.

The pulse rifle change is easily the smallest one, with the reduced auto-aim angle at zero points in Aim Assist. In other words, there will be less aim assistance at longer ranges.

Lightweight Bows are getting significant buffs with the fixed damage falloff distance going from 15 to 25 meters. The falloff will also be more mellow as the end of the damage falloff will now kick in at 45 meters instead of 20.

On top of that, the bows are getting an accuracy buff of around 10 per cent for easier headshots and whatnot.

Remember how I said the pulse rifle change is the smallest one? I lied, it's the SMG change. In fact, it was only one SMG that was changed as Shayura's Wrath should have a better ADS reticle now.

As far as the shotguns go, the Lightweight frame is getting a tighter pellet spread in order to catch up with other archetypes that left it in the dust.
