One of Jagged Alliance 3's side missions can give you an extremely productive mine around the centre of the map but to get it, you will need the previous owner to sign it over for you. There are two ways to do it - by force or by tracking down his Diesel.
If you choose to track the Diesel down, you will need a tip about its location and to get the tip without paying, you will have to fight Bonecrusher, who may seem impossible to beat but it's simply a clever deception by the devs. He is very beatable.
Defeating Bonecrusher
Some mercs may look like an obvious choice here but they end up having next to no chance, like Steroid. Despite his high Strength and Health stats, he is severely lacking in Dexterity which is extremely important because Bonecrusher is hard to hit otherwise.
The ideal candidate is Blood, who has high Agility and Dexterity, allowing him to have three attacks every time and a high chance to hit because of the aforementioned Dexterity which increases your aiming bonus. If you don't have Blood in the party, other capable candidates are Barry, Mouse, Igor, Thor, Wolf, Ice, Meltdown, Ivan, Dr. Q and any of the Legendary mercs except Fauda. Thor, Wolf and Ice are the best, next to Blood.
Make sure that your merc has Full Body Contact perk, which will give them Grit on each successful strike, soaking up much of Bonecrusher's damage.
With the preparation done and the candidate in tow, the rotation in the fight is quite simple - attack his neck, arms and groin every turn. This way he will take 30 additional damage from choking, have less chance to hit you and one less move, provided all your attacks hit.
Remember to aim every hit because missing a single strike could prove fatal - the status effects you inflict on Bonecrusher are crucial.
If all the preparation goes well, your fighter can beat him and come out of the ring barely scathed, as you can see on the image above where Blood lost barely any health to the champion.
