Guardian Games are kicking off soon and everything about the main prize is pretty much known already. Here is how to get Heir Apparent and its catalyst in the 2021 edition of Destiny 2 Olympics.

Heir Apparent was available during Guardian Games 2020 but many players gave up the grind after getting tired of the bounty farming. They will have another chance in GG 2021 where they will need to bank Contender or Platinum Cards with Eva Levante in order to have a chance at obtaining the Exotic.

Contender Cards will be tied to the core activities, such as Gambit, Strikes and Crucible. Once you've done enough tasks, you will complete your card and will be able to bank it, in a fashion similar to the medals from the last year. The same goes for Platinum Cards but these will be tied to Trials of Osiris and Nightfalls.

In case you already have the gun, or have obtained it during Guardian Games 2021, banking these same Cards will have a chance to drop the Catalyst for the weapon. The upgrade wasn't available back in 2020 so everyone will have to start from a clean slate here.

The objectives for the Heir Apparent Catalyst have also leaked:

  • Step 1 - Obtain medals and score 50 points this way
  • Step 2 - Complete three Contender Cards
  • Step 3 - Kill enemies with Machine Guns in Daily Focus playlist. Earn 90 points this way

Hopefully, the event will not be as tiring as its predecessor but the tiny statue next to Zavala seems to still be the ultimate reward for the winning class.
