Bungie limited the number of Rose drops to three per week and they are soon removing the gun entirely. Thankfully, there is a way to get a few additional drops.
Destiny 2 is still heavy on FOMO and Bungie is relying on artificial scarcity to keep Rose a valuable and somewhat rare item.
It can only be acquired once a week for playing three Competitive PvP matches for each character and it will be removed at the end of Season 20, on May 22, 2023.
With just three rolls per week and just a month before the next season begins, the cycle will repeat six times, meaning if you start farming as soon as April 11, you can only acquire six Roses per character before the hand cannon goes out of rotation. However, there is a way to skip that limitation but only if you are not attached to your characters.
Getting an additional Rose roll each week is as simple as deleting a character, creating a new one and jumping into Competitive PvP.
Keep in mind that if you didn't complete the placement matches, you need to do that first.
Once that's done, make sure that the new character you create is of a class different to the others on your account. For example, if you have one of each class and delete a Titan in order to farm an additional Rose, make sure you create a Titan again. If you have only two characters, for example, a Titan and a Warlock, there is no need to delete anything, just create a Hunter and go for it.
Just remember to do the three weekly matches to get the first Rose before deleting a character. Otherwise, you will just get the same number of Roses you could by default but with extra steps.
You also don't need to complete the introductory quests. As soon as you meet Shaw Han and arrive to Cosmodrome, you can open the Director and travel to the Tower.
The full rotation you need to do is:
- Acquire Rose on three different classes for the week
- Delete one class
- Create the same class
- Meet Shaw Han
- Fast travel to the Tower
- Gear up at the vault
- Do your three matches
- Get Rose
- Leave the gear at the vault
- Repeat from Step 2
