Dead by Daylight: Ideal loadout for the Trapper
First look at the Trapper
First look at the Trapper

The original trailer for Dead by Daylight is the perfect description of the feeling players get when getting into a game. The main reason why this is the case is the killer in the trailer. His name is the Trapper and here is the ideal loadout for him.

The Trapper is Behaviour's poster child and he was one of the first killers to get released on Dead by Daylight (even before the Huntress). Even though he was the first one to get released, he is not the easiest to use due to him requiring some time to set up his abilities at the start.

Keeping this in mind, what would be the ideal loadout for him? Here is our opinion on that.

Perk Loadout

Save the Best for Last

Save the Best for Last is the Shape's unique perk and it plays around the obsession. Whenever the killer hits a survivor that is not the obsession, they gain 1 token, capping at 8. Every token gives you a 5% cooldown reduction, hitting the obsessions decreases the token number by 4/3/2 based on the level of the perk. Sacrificing the obsession deactivates the perk.

The reason why this perk is good for the trapper is that the trapper can avoid hitting his obsession by simply luring them into one of his traps and then picking the survivor up straight from the trap, avoiding the potential loss of tokens.

Deadlock

Whenever a generator is completed, The entity blocks the Generator with the most progression for 30 seconds. The blocked Generator is revealed to the killer in white during this time.

This perk allows The trapper to regain some map control if he is losing it and reposition himself and his traps while doing so.

Corrupt Intervention

If the player has Corrupt Intervention the 3 Generators located farthest from the killer are blocked for 120 seconds right at the start of the trial.

This forces the survivors to get closer to the Trapper so he has less ground to cover and can play around his traps easier and more efficiently. Corrupt Intervention is there to give the Trapper a much bigger presence than what he'd originally have.

No Way Out

Once the exit gates have been powered No Way Out activates and any survivor that interacts with an exit gate switch will trigger a loud noise that will notify the killer and the gates will be blocked off for 12 seconds per stack. Stacks are gained from hooking survivors.

The Trapper is the only Killer that can have so much control over the exit gates after the gates have been powered. Additionally, the endgame is where the Trapper shines so losing a few generators at the start is not that bad.

Add-ons

The ideal add-ons for the Trapper are Honing Stone (Survivors who free themselves from a trap are put into the dying state) and Fastening Tool (Trap rescue and escape time along with setting speed are increased)
