Riot has equipped Valorant with 4 different text chat types and 2 voice chat types but has not given any direct instructions on how to use the different chats.
The new patch has introduced a new real-time chat monitoring system that mentioned players who have been team chat muted by the system will also be party chat muted, many don't really know how to switch between the two and here is how.
To use text chat, a player can simply press Enter. The default chat that the game will open is the Team chat. If players wish to switch to All Chat (chat that enemies can see) they can type "/a" or simply press Shift + Enter. Switching to Party Chat is equally as simple and the command "/p" will get you there.
Switching from Party or All Chat back to Team Chat can be achieved by pressing Tab. Additionally, pressing Tab and typing the username of a friend will start a private text chat with that friend.
In case one of your teammates goes AFK in the first round, you can type "/remake" at any point in the second round. This will start a vote and if it is unanimous, the players can end the game without any penalties.
If you see a crosshair you like but your teammate has it and doesn't want to give you the code, type "/cc" while spectating the teammate and the crosshair will get imported into the crosshair section your the menu.
Lastly, if your team is expressing toxicity through the text chat, you can censor it by going to the Controls and then the Communication tab in your settings and finding the "Explicit Language Filter" option. Turning it on will switch all of the inappropriate text into stars (*).
