While exploring the town of Hernand in Crimson Desert, the newest action RPG from Pearl Abyss, you'll come across a merchant called Rhett, the owner of the equipment store, and since his business doesn't flourish, he will ask you to get him some iron ore to help him make some equipment.
However, finding the iron ore is anything but easy, because if you try to find it blindly, looking around many rocks near Hernand, many other ore deposits will lie around, but iron ore will be nowhere to be found.
If this problem troubles you as well, here is how to easily find the iron ore vein and mine some to bring Rhett's quest to the conclusion.
How to Locate Rhett and Start His Quest
There are actually two different ways to start Rhett's quest, and both are located near each other. The first method is to find Rhett standing in front of the smithy, and as you approach him, you'll notice a yellow question mark on the minimap, meaning you're approaching a side quest. Speak with him and he will ask you to help him.
The other method is to look for his request on the quest board inside the town square; however, you'll still need to talk to him once you read his poster, so in any case, the best way is to go and find him directly.
How to Find the Iron Ore Vein
After speaking with Rhett, he will give you a pickaxe needed for mining minerals and ore, and you'll have to find the iron ore specifically. Although the game doesn't tell you this, there is a legit method to pinpoint the location of the iron ore vein immediately after receiving the quest.
Go inside the 'Journal', navigate to 'Faction Quests', and select 'Hernand Commissions'. Once there, highlight Rhett's Request, and in the lower right corner of the screen, you'll see the 'Open Map' options. Press this button and it will immediately show the place where the iron ore vein is located. Mark this location on the map, and travel there.
Wrapping Up the Quest
Mine the required amount of iron ore and simply follow the quest marker to bring it to Rhett's assistant. Doing this will bring the quest to a close, and his assistance will tell you that he will have a sword for you as a reward a bit later. So when some time passes, return to the assistant to pick up your reward.
